What is PRP?
PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma. It is prepared by drawing a small amount of your own blood and processing it in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelet-rich portion of the plasma.
Platelets are best known for their role in blood clotting, but they also contain naturally occurring growth factors and signaling proteins involved in the body’s healing and tissue-repair processes. When PRP is incorporated into an aesthetic treatment, these concentrated platelets may help support cellular communication, collagen production, tissue remodeling, and gradual improvements in skin quality.
Because PRP is prepared from your own blood, it is considered an autologous treatment. Unlike dermal fillers, PRP does not immediately add volume, reshape facial features, or fill individual lines. Instead, it works with the body’s natural regenerative response to support gradual improvements over time.
At Youthtopia Med Spa, PRP may be incorporated into treatments designed to improve facial skin quality, texture, fine lines, acne scarring, and other appropriate concerns. Your provider will determine whether PRP alone or in combination with another treatment is best suited to your goals.
