Though HALO™ is best known as a treatment for the face, you can get your HALO™ glow in most areas of body! Patients may receive HALO™ resurfacing on the neck, hands, torso, arms and legs.

Immediately after treatment, a typical patient may feel warm or prickling sensations in treated skin - this is temporary and should last only 15-30 minutes. In the days following treatment, patients may experience redness and swelling. Your skin will be ready for makeup after 24 hours, and in about 5 days, most side effects should subside.

After getting checked in, your provider will give you the safety glasses you'll wear during treatment to protect your eyes. They may also apply an anesthetic to your skin 30 minutes to an hour before treatment - this is to keep sensation low so you have the most comfortable experience possible. 

Using its motion-tracking technology, HALO™ will give your provider a view of your skin concerns so treatment can have full and accurate coverage. The HALO™ device will then be rolled in even strokes over your skin until it indicates to your provider that the treatment is done. Most treatments last about 2 hours, and we will give you tools to help soothe and cool your skin before you get back to your day!

To prepare for your treatment, discuss with your provider ahead of time if you have a history of cold sores, regularly take blood thinners/aspirin or have received dermal fillers in the last 1-2 months. In the week before your HALO™ treatment, avoid undergoing any cosmetic treatments that may be an irritant to your skin. We advise limiting skin care to a plain moisturizer, gentle cleanser and sunscreen in the three days leading up to your treatment.

After treatment, your provider will give you personalized recommendations on safe skin care during your recovery process. Typical patients will continue the use of a gentle cleanser without exfoliants, a plain moisturizer and sunscreen. Excess sun exposure and strenuous exercise or other activities that cause sweating should be avoided until your skin is healed.
